Amped Music Project is a mentoring programme for high school music students, building skills and confidence about the music industry.

Dunedin, Otago

Love new music? Love new musicians? Why not both…?

Amped Music Project is a mentoring programme for high school music students – they get to mix with local legends and music mavens, building skills and confidence that will help them navigate their entry into the music industry.

We’re crowdfunding for the 2026 programme – a series of workshops and gigs over four weekends in August and September. Your donation will help us provide these amazing opportunities for our next generation of amazing musos.

Amped Music Project enables participants to:

- explore their identity as artists

- begin to develop their music careers

- build on their Amped experience if they wish to pursue music as a career or hobby

- make strong connections with their peers and with the wider Ōtepoti music community

Amped includes workshops and all-ages gigs (as well as other opportunities that arise) that connect young musicians with Dunedin's music and creative scenes. Experienced musicians – and Amped alumni! – are engaged as guest tutors and artists to mentor the young people.

The programme takes place from August-September each year.

Your donations will support the delivery of Amped Music Project 2026, ensuring we can contract great people as mentors, use our incredible all-ages music venues, supply high quality tech gear and the people to operate it, promote the gigs to a wide audience, and most importantly keep the snack tables well stocked!

Use of funds

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
