Our much loved husband and father who has MND, is facing many changes, challenges & financial costs that can come quickly with this disease.
Nelson
Ben was diagnosed in March 2026 with MND after spending 14 months trying to get answers from numerous Drs and specialists for different symptoms he was experiencing.
We are raising funds to modify our bathroom for wheelchair access, purchase a mobility vehicle and explore overseas treatment options that aren't available in NZ.
Motor Neuron Disease is a rapidly progressive condition that affects the brain and nerves, causing muscles to weaken over time. The progression can include slurred speech, trouble swallowing, severe fatigue, loss of mobility and eventually breathing difficulties.
This diagnosis has been devasting for our family, with many challenges and changes. We want to ensure he can live with comfort, dignity and as independent as possible with us in the home, while also exploring every avenue for his care. Unfortunately some of the essential needs for his care aren't covered by government funding.
We have set up this page to help ease the massive financial pressure that comes with a progressive illness and any contribution no matter how small is greatly appreciated by us all. If you aren't in a position to donate, sharing this page would mean a lot.
THANK YOU from Ben, Anna and family.🤗💙
Ben is my husband.
Funds raised will go towards Bathroom modification for wheelchair access, mobility vehicle, overseas treatment options (Page updates will be provided when we know more)
