Help Ana and her family rebuild their lives after they lost their home and all belongings in a devastating fire on New Year's Eve.
Auckland
Imagine returning home on New Year’s Eve after a long day of work, to find your house had completely burnt down. This was the reality for Ana. Unable to spend the evening in the company of loved ones, reflecting on the year that was and the accomplishments that came with it, Ana fought to find temporary housing for her family. The fire was caused by an electrical fault in the garage, which ignited a fire so severe it spread throughout their home, destroying all their belongings. Thankfully her family was not at home during this time and no one was harmed.
Ana-Maruia Ngametua Richard is a single mother of four beautiful daughters, aged 16, 12, 4, and 2. They are currently living in separate houses due to space constraints with different relatives who were able to support them temporarily. More than the sadness of losing everything, it is being separated from her children that actually brings tears to Ana’s eyes. With nothing more than the clothes on their backs, Ana and her family are now searching for a new place to call home.
Ana joined our Novotel Auckland Airport Housekeeping team in March 2017 and we quickly learnt she has a heart of gold. Ana has built a rapport within our team based on her positive and caring nature and infectious laughter. In an attempt to give something back to Ana for all the love she has spread, we are appealing for your donations to go towards her rebuilding her life and to help her family get back on their feet.
She has brought so much love and light to our team over the past year and we want to do our bit and help get her and her family back on their feet.
Your donations will give Ana the financial support needed to secure and furnish her new home, and continue to provide for her children.
