  • Finally coming home!

      1 April 2015

Ok everyone, it's been a crazy few weeks but.... Natalie is finally going home!

The last lot of antibiotics will be at 6.30pm tomorrow (NZ time) and then the IV will be taken out and then they can go home!!!

The path ahead is still not clear and there's a long, long way to go yet but the main thing is that this little girl has fought this terrible disease and is winning.

I find it rather fitting that all this has happened and the donations page closes tomorrow.

We know that everybody's kind words and generous donations have eased the pain during this time.

Natalie and her family have come so far and been so strong; let's hope this is the first and last time we have to start something like this.

On behalf of Paul and Shelly and their family, I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to each and every one of you who have donated to this cause. You are all truly amazing!

  • Message from Shelly....

      29 March 2015

Here's a message we thought you'd like to see from Shelly Anderson....

Its incredible with the situation Paul and I have been in, the amazing support we have received. The time people have given up of their own busy lives to spend countless hours just sitting and waiting with us in hospital so we've never felt like we're going through this alone! waiting for life changing results and phone calls from the medical staff involved with Nat. The infinite amount of calls, texts, messages of love, hope and support from so many people who have been involved in our lives over all the years, from primary school to high school, to ex colleagues, to friends of friends. It's overwhelming seeing who is really there for you to hold you up and get you through, when you have been knocked down so hard! That support and strength doesn't always come from the places you'd expect. You all know who you are! And my god do Paul and I appreciate you!

  • On the mend

      24 March 2015

So a big thanks to everyone has has helped out so far, it has meant a lot to the family.

I'm happy to let you all know that apart from having a bad night last Friday in the way of several seizures (which the doctors expected), Natalie is now back feeding on the bottle with out vomiting. She will be out of HDU as soon as there is room available which is great news. Also the post scan shows that the surgeons removed all of the tumour which is more good news.

On behalf of the Andersons, thanks for your support during this time. You are all amazing.

  • Success !

      17 March 2015

Latest update: Natalie got out of surgery a couple of hours ago and is doing great. She will be sedated until tomorrow morning when the MRI will be done to ascertain whether they removed all of the tumour. Doctors are confident at this stage that they have. Massive thank you to all who have helped with this so far. There'll be more news as we get it. Needless to say, her parents are over the moon. Thank you.

  • fingers crossed

      17 March 2015

    Hi,

Just want to say that Paul, Shelly, Ryan & little Natalie want to say a big thank you to every one who has donated. Not having to worry about finances has given them one less thing to think about in such a difficult time.

Natalie had her first operation yesterday to drain the tumour which went well and has just gone into surgery to have it removed as i'm typing this update.

The doctors are hopeful that it doesn't seem to be the type that spreads or come back but will need to be sent away for testing once removed.

So fingers and toes crossed she makes it through.
