    Just wanted to send a last update before this fundraising page closes to say how appreciative I am of all the support that came in, and kept coming in and is still coming in! The messages were really lovely and the funds raised will not only cover the retreat fee but also help keep the homefires burning while I am away for a month, which helps me go away with a light heart and an open mind.   • Taking a closer look

    As the date of the Retreat draws closer, I find the main working ground is to create space where I don't always experience it...in my working day. To do this requires patience with the unmindfulness that seeps in, and gentle effort to return focus, clarity of purpose and kindly attention. Taking a closer look at what is there in the experience of the sensing body and mind...I pause and give thanks to everyone who is supporting my efforts to go forth and flourish.

  • Life is way more fun when I don't lead with the Ego...

    In preparation for the Retreat, I have been doing some reflection and practice designed to loosen the stranglehold of the ego, by gently looking behind it...only to see that it really is just a story or collection of story fragments, bolstered up by habits and assumptions! The 'real story' of flow of consciousness is a lot more interesting, colourful, rich and bright.

    Thanks everyone for the additional donations, it now covers the full cost of the retreat, and anything extra will offset some leave without pay and a few other associated costs while I'm away for the month. May your generosity bring you much enjoyment, Thank you so much.

    Hi everyone, thanks so much for the lovely messages of support, and the great generosity shown, it has been really quite moving for me to feel the support. We have met the initial target! So cool. Any extra funds donated will still be extremely welcome, as I still need to cover a shortfall in my wages while I am away for a month.You guys rock!

  • Voyage into a new life...we are over the half way mark

    I'm sharing a picture of my mum, whose Buddhist name was Aniketa, whose name meant homeless in the sense of One who has Gone Forth. In my family, after my sisters, I will be the one to go Fifth! In this respect as in many others I am proud to follow her lead, trying to imaginatively use all aspects of my llfe as a means of transformation as she did, even while living in the suburbs, doing her knitting!

    Here's another picture taken while on Retreat at Sudarshanaloka Retreat Centre. This multilayered spider's web, strung with dewdrops reminded me of 'Indra's Net' a network of celestial jewels that all reflect each other's light. My friends, you are that jewelled network...I love the light you all bring
