Anna Prescott needs a custom-made Hoyt Running Chair so she can continue running with her Dad.
Waikato
Anna was born with a rare neurological disorder called polymicrogyria which has left her with severe cerebral palsy and seizures. This means she is is reliant on a wheelchair for mobility.
8 years ago she started helping her Dad train for marathons and ultra-marathons by joining him on his training runs. Initially this was just in a normal buggy before she got her first running chair. She has now traveled over 3000 km in that chair but has sadly outgrown it.
A custom built Hoyt running chair will give Anna the best comfort and postural support, and allow her to start running with her Dad again. Maybe even complete a marathon...
I do all the pushing when Anna is going for a run in her buggy. Anna keeps me motivated with my own training for ultra-marathons
All funds raised will be spent on a custom made running chair for Anna. Surplus funds will be used to purchase a bike attachment so Anna can join her Dad for bike rides.
