Anne continues to fight breast cancer.
Canterbury
Eighteen months into this journey with breast cancer, Anne continues to need support as she fights to survive cancer. It has been a difficult time for Ben and little Paisley (2 ½ years old).
A recent breast scan has shown that the breast cancer has returned with seven new localised tumours ranging in size from 5mm to 15mm. A bone scan has revealed a ‘highly suspicious lesion” in Anne’s bones which indicates that the cancer has spread to bone cancer.
As Anne’s current treatments are not being fully effective, she is looking at other options and treatments. We recently heard about one test (R.G.C.C.) which is designed to assess which types of cancer treatments will be most effective for a specific person and type of cancer. This will give direction as to what treatments would be best to use. She will attend a doctor who has a holistic approach to medicine and will be able to help if she needs to have chemotherapy.
This turn of events has resulted in Anne and Ben needing to move back to Christchurch where Anne can have the support of her family around her.
As you may imagine, moving from Auckland to Christchurch is costly financially – moving house, finding a job, etc. And there are the ongoing costs of supplements, treatments, Doctor visits and eating only organic foods.
This page is set up so that those who would like to support Anne financially are able to do so.
We will never be able to truly thank people for their generosity, but we are most grateful for every gift.
Anne is my precious daughter. I want to do everything that I can to make this journey she has to travel a little easier. Not having to worry about money would go a long way to relieving some of the stress that she, Ben and their Paisley face.

Update 14 February 2018
Anne has been having chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody (e.g. Herceptin) treatment. She decided to accept this treatment when a bone scan showed a “highly suspicious lesion” in her hip bone and the RGCC test showed that the chemotherapy drug that they chose to use had an 80% effectiveness against the cancer cells in her blood.
Anne has been having a rough time but there have been some positive results from treatment on the breast area tumours. Lately she has been having a lot of pain in the hip.
If you would like to keep up to date with what is happening with Anne, you are welcome to follow her journey on her Facebook page “When the shit hit the fan.”
We continue to be very thankful to those who have supported Anne financially and in other ways.
