Rating highly in the Regional & Global rounds Aotea College students have been invited to compete and would love your help to get there
Wellington
This year saw ten amazing Aotea College students from Porirua take out the regional round of the World Scholars Cup in Wellington, moving on to the Global round in Melbourne, ranking highly there, and all being invited to enter the Tournament of Champions competition to be held at Yale University in November.
With your help, six of the students - Caitlin, Hadi, Chris, Tamara, Katie, and Hana will proudly represent their school, region and New Zealand at the World Scholars Cup, Tournament of Champions. They will make up two senior teams and we are looking for funding to help send them and their chaperone.
World Scholar's Cup is an international academic competition involving debating, collaborative essay writing, a team quiz, and a question and answer exam. It tests science, history, social studies, literature, art, and music. Tournament of Champions is the final round of the World Scholar’s Cup competition with students coming from all areas of the world. Our students have devoted many hours studying across the wide range of topics.
The team will be grateful for any contribution no matter how small, to help us reach this life changing opportunity.
I'm the proud parent of Caitlin, and assisting the team to aim big
To represent our school the funds will be used for flights, accommodation, and registration fees. Our goal is $4,600 per student, $27,600 for the group.
Any surplus funds will be used to support future Aotea College WSC teams
