Fund raising to continue the push to support Palestinian Human Rights.
Nationwide
The New Zealand Palestine Solidarity Network arose from the Conference on Palestine in 2013.
The network expanded and developed a more formal national structure at a National Seminar in Christchurch in June 2019 and has become the Palestine Solidarity Network Aotearoa – PSNA.
PSNA is committed to working with groups around New Zealand and internationally to build and strengthen campaigns for a free Palestine.
PSNA aims to change public opinion and bring pressure on the New Zealand government to join the majority of the international community in requiring Israel to recognize and support the following principles:
* A just peace in Palestine depends upon the return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland
* Acceptance of the primacy of international law and United Nations resolutions
* The international community's responsibility for upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
* Justice requires the establishment of a single state in Palestine, bi-national, secular and democratic, with full and equal citizenship for all with ethnic and religious rights protected in a democratic constitution
Raising the awareness of the issue of Palestine/Israel:
* Bringing Palestinian voices to Aotearoa (e.g. the costs associated with bringing speakers to Aotearoa).
* Carrying out lobbying work (e.g. travel costs to meet government departments)
* Organise events (e.g. event hire and promotion costs)
* Influence Local and National governmental organisations (e.g. travel costs and purchase of posters)
