Help our wee warrior get life changing treatment and meet critical milestones.
Northland
Archie suffered a severe brain injury during birth to parts of his brain responsible for motor movements. As a result he has physical developmental delays and is struggling to meet milestones.
The good news is babies are very neuroplastic and with the help of frequent intensive therapy, particularly in the first two years of life, the necessary neuro pathways can be formed. The bad news is that this kind of treatment isn't funded through the public health system and it's expensive (~$10,000 per intensive).
Archie has made incredible progress attending his first intensive therapy. We have set up this page to raise funds to help get Archie to more intensives and give him the best chance of meeting critical milestones like crawling, talking, feeding himself and walking.
Help our wee warrior get the life changing treatment he deserves and meet critical milestones.
Archie is my wonderful nephew and Alice is his mother
All funds raised will be spent on fees for intensive therapy for Archie. Each intensive is aprox $10k. If the target is not met funds will be used for shorter treatment sessions.
Archie almost One 18 August 2024
Archie will be one at the end of the month so thought it timely for an update to all you wonderful supporters.
We have been busy with the home programme and have managed to fit in a few more sessions in Auckland, his last block was particularly rewarding with the therapists noticing how much stronger he his and I indicating that he should be a 'good little walker' which is huge! A lot of hard work to get there but very motivating!
Thanks to you all, pic of Archie stepping out at his last session - I didn't capture it but the joy on his face was heart melting. This wee boy is determined.
Thank you Tia, David and Reef - very much appreciated!
Thank you so much Bridie, he sure is a resilient wee man!
