$1,000 donated
Given by 19 generous donors in 11 weeks

Support Arjun Porter-Howland as he runs the Auckland marathon to help Aotearoa's Military personnel and families with Mission Homefront.

Auckland

Arjun Porter-Howland, an 18-year-old with dreams of joining the New Zealand Army, will run the Auckland marathon (Nov 3rd) to raise awareness and funds for Mission Homefront—a cause devoted to supporting New Zealand Defence Force personnel and their whānau.

A passionate kickboxer, high school student, and future soldier, Arjun is determined to make a difference for those who serve our country. He’s training hard for his first marathon, knowing the impact and ripple effects his efforts will have.

Mission Homefront shines a light on the service conditions and dire challenges NZDF personnel and their families face—which have already led 30% of service members to leave the force. Over 60% of military families report their substandard housing is causing health issues, nearly 60% are struggling financially, and more than half are grappling with welfare and support difficulties.

Moved to take action, Arjun aims to raise awareness of the critical problems and generate much-needed funds to directly support service families in need.

“I believe Mission Homefront has the potential to spark meaningful change for the NZDF, improve base living conditions and ensure Defence personnel receive the pay and service conditions they deserve. I’m honoured to raise awareness for this important cause.”

Mission Homefront is proud of Arjun’s courage, commitment, and integrity - and we’re honoured he chose us for his mission.

Every donation will go directly towards supporting service members and their whānau.

Thank you!!   3 December 2024

Kia ora all, thank you so much for supporting Arjun's Mission and Mission Homefront. Arjun completed the full marathon in 3 hours and 51 minutes - he pushed himself and his body to its limits, even crossing the finish line with bleeding feet - absolute legend! Thank you Arjun for your dedication, and thank you for believing in us 🖤

Because of his efforts and all those who have so kindly donated, we now have the funds to be able to provide tangible support for our Sailors, Soldiers, Aviators and their whānau.

It's also incredibly meaningful - it's the first funds we've brought in as an organisation. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and showed their support 🖤

Next year we'll have the application process sorted to start being able to distribute this money to help pay for things like independent healthy homes inspections, mould removal, financial hardship grants, hauora support and more
