Thankyou to everyone who has donated and or shared our brave Arlo's give a little page. Your generosity and kindness is appreciated and will go a long way in helping Andy and Megan during this very tough time.

Arlo had his third and biggest surgery yesterday. A team of the best surgeons in NZ performed a very tricky surgery going in through his chest to try and pull back the bulge that has been pushing on his 'windpipe'(unsure of medical name), that came about after his last surgery. Arlo was on a bypass machine throughout the surgery, so that his blood was able circulate and oxygen enter his bloodstream. The surgery took around 4hrs and he now has a sizeable scar from his neck to the bottom of his rib cage, adding to the one on the side of his neck from last weeks surgery.

At the moment he is in the PICU resting and recovering. Megan tells me that the nurses all comment on how fiesty he is, thank goodness for his fiesty nature as it has given him the strength to battle all that he has been through in his short life.

It is possible that more surgeries will be needed if his windpipe caves in. But we hope that does not happen. Coming home is still atleast a month away, all going well.

Here are a couple of pics of our wee battler in the PICU after his surgery yesterday.

    Update from Aunty Bronwyn
