Aromatherapy for the Mental Health Unit in Hawke's Bay

I am a yoga teacher and essential oil educator in Hawke's Bay. I am very aware of the high suicide rates in NZ and would like to make a small contribution to increase the well being of patients and staff members at the Mental Health Units in New Zealand Hospitals, starting with my local Hawke's Bay Hospital. The staff are very receptive and excited to having aromatherapy established in the units. There are other hospitals around the world who have already started using essential oils and diffusers successfully.

The sense of smell is our quickest sense and the essential oils work on the limbic system of the brain, where our emotions are regulated. There are many scientific studies about the benefits of aromatherapy in the regulation of emotion, managing stress levels and increase in well being. It is an easy and pleasant tool for the staff and patients to add to their toolkit.

Unfortunately the Public Health system doesn't really have enough funds for those additional therapies. So I am raising funds to equip the Mental Health Unit in the Hawke's Bay Hospital with 9 diffusers and Essential Oil kits, as well as roller bottles for topical application that can be added to the patients sensory kits when they transition from hospital to home.

doTERRA, the essential oil brand I am distributing, have agreed to support my fundraiser with a matching campaign. If I manage to fund raise $2,000 either in doTERRA product donations or cash funds by the 28th September 2018 they will match it with a donation of doTERRA products worth $2,000. All the money will be used to purchase doTERRA essential oils & diffusers for the Mental Health Unit in Hawke's Bay.

If I manage to raise more funds than the required $2,000 with this campaign the surplus money will be used to approach & equip other Mental Health Units in NZ with these aromatherapy tools.
