Avian Rescue Otago

Otago, Central Otago District

Money will be used to keep Avian rescue running and buy the much needed supplies we need. Like medication, pain relief, food and vet bills.

Avian Rescue Otago is a bird rescue in Central Otago, run by Alan, a registered veterinary nurse. We care for a large array of birds both wild and domestic. We have a lot of vital equipment and knowledge to help us get our bird friends back to health.

At Avian Rescue Otago we deal with domestic and wild birds from a variety of situations, our facilities allow us to provide intensive nursing care to our patients. Apart from our generous sponsors and donors we do not receive any funding, meaning our costs are often covered by our fundraising efforts and our own pockets.

Some of these birds will be here for the rest of their lives, these are the ones that for various reasons are classed as being "at risk" for rehoming, these birds are often very expensive to care for.

We accept donations of bird food, medical supplies, linen, newspapers and various other items!
