    Our Harlee girl truly is a miracle story! Everything you have done was/is working. Every “possible negative”they were expecting to happen hasn’t over the last couple of days. She has surprised even the doctors and nurses in PICU. Late yesterday we were transfered back to the IOA(Intensive Observation Area) on the heart ward, Ward 23B which we now hold very close to our hearts. The first couple of days after surgery were hard and Harlee wasn’t coping well. It wasn’t looking too good. She took a MASSIVE turn very suddenly to the surprise of everyone, even the doctors. She is strong. So, so strong. All of your prayers worked. Her temperature settled right down, there was no underlying issue. Her oxygen has been removed and it is always sitting between 95-100 which has NEVER been the case before. Her little body will take time to get used to her heart being healed but we already see a big difference in her. She has lost weight overnight(110g) and is dehydrated but they have a plan to manage and improve that. Her pacing wires were removed today, which is a massive win! She has a little bit of a cough but they are not overly concerned about that at this stage so YAY!

    This last week and especially the last two days is a massive and powerful testament of your faith, the power of your prayers and also the goodness of God. 🤍

    We have a long road ahead for us for her to restore to full health but we BELIEVE. We believe, we really do.

  • Our Little Fighter💛

    Harlee is in ICU now and we just got to see her. The VSD(hole between the lower chambers) was very large and the ASD just a normal size. He said her heart was very big. Her surgeon has the most calming voice and we felt at peace all day. She is not breathing by herself and won’t be for some time but the machine is doing a good job doing that for her.

    We are unsure of the timelime of the next steps but she is out of surgery and from a surgical perspective all went well. Please keep praying! We have a lot to wait for and there is a lot of things that will only show with time.

    We thank God. Please join us in that. Harlee’s army was on form today and it showed.

    She is so strong. Incredible little girl! 🤍

  • The Big Day!

    Today is the day your heart will heal our hearty Harlee. The sunrise from the hospital room this morning was beautiful. Harlee has smiles and she is very alert. She is ready! We are here and we have joy.

    As her mama I am scared, unsure and not ready. How can you ever be ready for this as a mother. You can’t. You just can’t. But what you can be is full of joy and faith. And that I am.

    Go, get your little heart healed so our hearts can also heal. Our family will be complete again soon and we will all live to tell this story of power, strength, grace and love. Lots of love.

    Harlee Mae. We love you. I love you!!! You have given me a few extra grey hairs but box dye will do the trick. You are strong, resilient, beautiful and called for greatness. I know it. I cannot wait to see this story unfold more. You are changing lives and you will continue to do so. All for his glory my sweet, sweet baby. You are everything to me, daddy, Elih and Dallas.

    Whatever the outcome. He is good. We are holding on to hope today! 🤍

    If you see Elih and Dallas today give them a hug and say this hug is from mummy. She asked me to give it to you and she loves you!

    Hold your own children tight today too. Tell them you love them! Life will never mean the same to me ever again.

  • Our wee Harlee Mae❤️

    We have had our 4th night in Starship and we are all doing well. Harlee will be on the high flow machine until surgery.

    They have scheduled her surgery for this coming Wednesday. Her surgery is expected to take anywhere from 6-12 hours with the most probable duration being around 8 hours.

    The cardiology team and the surgical team went over her case on Friday and decided to bump her up to this coming week as her body isn’t coping with waiting. She was a little rascal last night. She had those sporadic, loud cries again with very low oxygen levels and a concerning low heart rate. It really is the first sign that she isn’t well or that something is about to happen. They did an ECG at around 12:30am and the doctors came to see her overnight. She is better this morning but the team will review this morning.

    We will keep you all updated regarding the surgery on Wednesday and if there is any changes. Please, please, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. 🤍 This is not something I want ANY parent to EVER go through. The pain is deep. We are very unsure. We are scared. But we have JOY! We choose joy and we choose to focus on the million little miracles every day.

    We have said it before and we will say it again. God is good. He will remain good no matter the outcome. We hold on to peace and hope knowing he knows far better than us! He is good. He is good.

    Hi friends.

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS. Harlee is currently in ICU at Starship Hospital. She is doing really well all things considered. We are in the “waiting” now but will update you as soon as we know more regarding the surgery. She is being very closely monitored and also cared for really well by the team here. It has been a challenging time for us as a family. We are happy and thankful she is still here with us. It could have looked very different for us today after the last couple of days. We appreciate all of your support. We need it.

  • Pray For Harlee

    Hi Friends,

    Thank you for your prayers and giving.

    Harlee is a brave little girl and is loved by so many. We are blessed to be part of her story!

    Over the last three weeks there has been many ups and downs. Harlee has been deteriorating and has been transferred to Starship hospital as the doctors at Waikato have exhausted all their options. Her oxygen levels drop to below 80 at times, she is on high demand oxygen, and her blood oxygen levels are irregular. The diuretics are not working and the fluid in her lungs have increased. We are grateful and relieved that she will get the specialised care she so desperately needs.

    Marethie will send an update through as soon as she is settled at Starship.

    Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We can’t wait to have a smiling baby again!
