Baby Harry Weller

  • Back in the Bay

      11 August 2016

Harry has proven super strong and he and Helen have been transferred back to the Special care baby unit at the Tauranga Hospital where they will continue their recovery.

Harry has come though this ordeal like a trooper and is one step closer to be able to go home, although as you can imagine that may still be some time.

Thankyou again for all your support, will catch up with you all when return to some form of normality.

After two days with his chest remaining open in the event of complications little Harry had his chest closed today. This was done on Ward so not an operation as such. He's now a member of the zipper club and has a long way to go to full recovery but is on the right path now.

Thank you all again for your generous donations thus far.

Baby Harry underwent close to 8 hours of surgery today, the surgeons are pleased with his progress and believe it all went well. That being said, it's early days yet and Harry has a long way to go.

  • Surgery Update

      31 July 2016

Helen and Dave met with the surgeon this morning and are happy that he is one of the best having done over 2500 heart surgeries in his career. The surgeon was confident about tomorrows surgery but was quick to advise that Harry has multiple complications and a complex surgery is required to save his life.

You can do it Harry, God Bless you all.

  • Surgery plan

      30 July 2016

Baby Harry is "penciled" in for surgery on Monday or Tuesday in the coming week. This is when the best surgeons are available. After surgery he will need to remain in Intensive Care for a week and then the High Dependency Unit for a further two weeks.
