Wild food harvest for our communities.
Gisborne
Since 2021 Kaiwhakangau volunteer hunters have supplied local foodbanks with 6 tons of venison meat.
We have a core of regular hunters who are passionate about supporting local communities. They are self-funded, take time off work and give 100% of their hunt.
We hunt once every 4-6 weeks over a 3 day period. Returning with 6-14 deer depending on weather etc.
The area's we hunt are remote and the weather is unpredictable. We wish to purchase Personal Locator Beacons to be worn by each hunter and R.T's to enable safer communication.
The need for foodbank assistance is constantly increasing.
Our costs are increasing faster than we can afford. (Kaiwhakangau Kai Connect does not receive funding or gain any monetary benefits)
We hope to be able to also assist with the cost of fuel and ammunition, for our core hunters.
Our meat goes out to schools, marae and food banks
Kaiwhakangau is a small business outdoor clothing who is putting people before profits.
We are passionate about the care for Aotearoa, the land and it's people.
Our Kai Connect kaupapa is 100% not part of our business-it is a volunteer project.
