Help Us Pass the Torch of the Barrier Bulletin newspaper – Support Our Gift to Aotea/Great Barrier Island
Great Barrier Island, Auckland
In Nov 2023, we bought Aotea/Great Barrier Island's 'Barrier Bulletin' fortnightly independent newspaper as an adventure, a part time income, and to connect to our community. This 43-year-old 1972 publication has been at the heart of the island, and we’ve worked hard to revive it, mastering new skills and offering a fresh, positive perspective.
It became a welcomed platform for open communication, receiving heartwarming feedback —people thanked us for articles especially on health, gardening and finance, sharing how we’ve helped them on their personal journeys.
Feeling called to focus on other things, we opted to sell the Bulletin, yet despite our best efforts, financial times made it clear people are struggling to invest.
So we changed tack, as our wish was to find someone to carry it forward with passion, care and commitment, and decided to give it away in a competition.
We found a winner aka the 'new owner' and she's all set up and ready to go with the first issue out shortly !
Whilst the new owner receives it for free of course, we wanted to allow anyone the opportunity to honor the time, effort, and love we put in, thus also enabling an exchange of energy between us and the new owner.
If you feel to gift a donation for our work, big or small, it is very much appreciated !
And lastly, thank you to the community of Aotea/Great Barrier for entrusting us in this incredible journey - let’s keep the Bulletin’s legacy thriving for years to come !
With gratitude,
Simone & Giulio
Any amount of funds raised will help us recoup our initial $20k investment in the Bulletin, and go towards new pursuits we're passionate about that help create a better world ~ alongside ensuring a positive energetic transfer with the new owner.
