Buddhist teachers Martine and Stephen Batchelor are well known around the world for their agnostic and secular approach to the buddhadharma
Nationwide
Teaching retreats in Taupo and Christchurch and Wellington in November 2010, Stephen will give a public lecture in Wellington around his newest book, Confession of a Buddhist Atheist. Giving to this cause, you will help cover their air fares, thereby reducing the cost of attending their retreats and ensure Stephen's lecture will be free to attend.
We have a dream – we would like to bring a steady stream of wise, experienced meditation teachers to Aotearoa New Zealand to offer teachings, inspiring some people to learn to meditate and others to deepen their practice of meditation. Can you relate to our dream?
Taupo retreat bookings now being taken 9 April 2010
Bookings are trickling in for Martine and Stephenfs North Island study retreat, which will be looking at what the dharma might be without the religiosity of so many of the pre-modern approaches. One thing is for certain: this retreat will be full well before November, so if you or any of your friends are considering coming let them know they should book sooner rather than later. Very soon we expect to be able to announce an venue for the public talk that Stephen will be giving in Wellington on Sunday 7 November, one which we hope will hold more than the 300 people who came along to his last talk in 2004. And finally, Martine will be offering a daylong retreat in Wellington on Sunday 7 November. No more information is available about this ?yet.
