Thank you for your support. We are preparing for a mediation conference between the developer and those that support using the area as a marine precinct. This is a necessary step before the Environment Court hears our objections to the loss of amenity that a high rise on the foreshore will create. We need your help so please support the cause. Thank you for your support and apologies for the late acknowledgement. We are preparing for mediation before the Environment Court hearing over apartment developments at Bayswater marina. We have also appeared at the High Court over the Orakei Local Board's decision to close the hardstand at The Landing and are awaiting the Judge’s decision on an interim injunction before a full hearing.
During these proceedings and discussions to protect Bayswater marina it is alarming to find the council has no interest in protecting shoreline assets where many relax, swim and paddle. A statement from council “Space in coastal locations is increasingly attractive to alternative development”. Is your local club or ramp safe?
We will keep you updated as events develop and in the meantime please share our give-a-little pages far and wide and visit https://www.ayba.org.nz/ for further updates. Seaside Access For Everyone
