Hi everyone, thank you so much for all your support - it is truly appreciated. Jo had her mastectomy and full lymph node removal on Wednesday and it was a big operation as her breast cancer was extensive however she is recovering well and now at home. She has 2 drains and is on strict bed rest for the next 2 weeks. Her mum and dad are with her and Mark helping over this time. Next step is surgery recovery and getting ready for chemotherapy.

  • Diagnosis and Treatment plan journey

      23 August 2020

On behalf of Jo and Mark they have asked me to provide an update following Jo’s specialist appointments this week. Jo’s breast cancer involves a large breast Tumor which involves several lymph nodes and glandular tissue as well. All other scans and imaging To date have been reassuring that there is no evidence of further spread which is really good news And a huge relief for Jo 😊. The tumor cells are so far - Strongly hormone Receptive and HER2 negative which is also good news. Her specialist said those very welcomed and positive words of being in the ‘potentially curable’ group 😊 Which is just so wonderful and a big relief. However given the size of the tumour the specialist is also a bit concerned about The potential for rouge cancer cells and therefore is recommending a full treatment plan - starting with a full radical mastectomy in 3 weeks time followed by chemo and radiotherapy treatment and then perhaps further risk reduction surgery after all of that. So it’s going to be a tough, long and roller coaster 9 months ahead but we are all here to support Jo and We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your very kind donations so Jo can get everything She needs to personally support her through this journey and to support them all as family too!!
