Support our treasured driver Ben as he recovers from a devastating accident—please donate to help him and his family.

Whangaparaoa, Auckland

He has already received numerous surgeries and will continue to have many more throughout his recovery process.

Gilmours North Shore are here for him throughout his rehabilitation journey, and we have set up this “Give a Little” page for him, so he can concentrate on getting better without financial worries for himself or his beloved family who are supporting him during this difficult time.

One of our treasured drivers, Ben was in a life changing, devastating accident this week while delivering to our valued customers.

Ben was tragically hit by a car from behind while he was getting stock out of the back of his truck, causing ben to receive horrific injuries.

Everyone knows that Ben is an extremely popular Team Member, is always bubbly, throwing jokes around and full of mischief and therefore we want to do everything we can to help him.

Please give a donation in support of Ben throughout this journey.

Update:

Ben has now been out of North Shore Hospital for two weeks and has been cherishing time with his wonderful friends and family. He’s working hard on getting up and mobile on his saved leg, showing incredible determination every day.

There is truly nothing that can hold Ben back. The world is your oyster, Ben, and we are all so proud of your strength, resilience, and spirit.

Thank you all for your generosity and compassion towards Ben.

Ben's Latest Update - 28/04/2026  28 April 2026

Ben has had a setback on his road to recovery with another operation on his right leg, quite a severe operation involving the removal of metal wear and replacing it. This operation has needed to be done for a while and has impacted his recovery timeframe.

We also know that an injury like this has been physically draining for him which everybody can also see but it is also affecting him mentally as well having his off days as to be expected. But he is a positive young man who will strive to do nothing but the best that he can do and anybody who knows him will know what kind of person he is very strong positive outgoing. With the support of his family friends work colleagues and the public who know him, we all know that he will be able to get through this.

Any further donations to contribute to aid him and his recovery would be appreciated.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
