Please help me get a bathroom.

Four years ago I was fortunate enough to buy an ex state house in Shannon, Horowhenua. I was thrilled as it was my life dream to own a home for myself and my daughter and something I never thought possible as a single Mum.

At the beginning of last year my lung collapsed (profile pic is me in hospital then). I kept having recurring respiratory problems and blocked sinus which did not go away despite repeated visits to the doctor and medication. When I got out of hospital in July after having influenza A it was discovered there was a leak in my bathroom, both from the toilet and shower mixer. After the linings from the bath were removed we discovered black mould had caused rot and was throughout 2/3rds of my bathroom.

I did get a payout from insurance, but it was not enough to cover it and long since gone on medical expenses and bills. My 15 year old daughter struggled with looking after a mum who we were told had a short time and did not even remember how to unlock a car door, let alone be capable of looking after either of us. I could not get home help or any help as I don't fit in anyone's categories despite asking numerous agencies. As a result it was too much for my daughter and she came to the attention of cyfs and has had to live elsewhere . I hated it but they cared enough for her to make sure she was safe and cared for her.

Despite a letter from my doctor saying I was not able to return to my home because of the black mould Winz would not help with alternative accommodation. I could not afford to pay board for my daughter, pay my mortgage and find somewhere else to live. I've worked too hard to just walk away from the home I got as security for us. When I asked for help towards repairing my bathroom I was told to approach pub charities. I have always tried to support myself and my daughter and never asked for help unless I was desperate.

In December I met an amazing man called Darren Birch from a charity called Homes for People. He has fought hard for someone he had only met once and as a result I am getting a bathroom. But what this means is he needs to find funding. I hate asking for help but cyfs are letting my daughter come home and I need a bathroom. If he can get funding it means that the money he has to find to pay for my bathroom means other people who need help will have to wait until I am able to repay the full amount. I don't want to see others in the same situation as me. The second photo I have included is what I look like now. I have been really ill and I have paid a huge price.

I know it is an incredibly huge ask and I would rather be in a position to do this myself but right now I can't. If anyone could help I would truly appreciate it. Thank you so much.
