The New Brighton Blanket Bank is a New Brighton Project initiative and was founded in 2012.
It is a project of giving and receiving, free from judgement, which relies on donations of warm bedding from the public.
In 2019 we gave out hundreds of items to support keeping families right across our city warm.
Many Christchurch homes are still insufficiently insulated and the cost of heating is not going down. We are committed to supporting anyone who can benefit from our service.
Given the COVID-19 situation, donations of used bedding to our Blanket Bank will be much more difficult to process.
This year monetary donations will be more important than ever.
With these donations we can purchase blankets, duvets etc to help us keep up with client requests.
