    We just wanted to send out a big thank you to everyone who donated to Bobs jet flight. We traveled to Tauranga this weekend gone, and Bob has the most exciting flight of his life, with loops, rolls, lots of acrobatics and experiencing 4-G. He came back full of adrenaline, grinning from ear to ear. I’ve added some photos to the givealittle page in case you want to take a look.

  • A message from the birthday boy!

    I just wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to my surprise prezzie. I really didn't have any idea and have been blown away by the generosity. I can't think of anything better to look forward to, and it will really make the next few months much easier. I have been told a few stories about how 'unwell' the jet ride can make you, but I now have a cocktail of anti-nausea drugs to call upon so that won't be a problem!

    I did try and put the gift voucher in my pocket but it turned out I needed a much bigger pocket!

    We'll try to post a video of the flight itself, assuming I don't embarrass myself, but I don't think my nice warm Rasta wig will fit under the helmet.

    So thank you all for making my 50th orbit around the sun a truly memorable occasion. You're all fantastic!

      I'm hoping this message reaches everyone who donated, as I can't find a way of sending out an update.

      The Jet Fighter Flight is booked in for 29 Feb. Fingers crossed for good weather, and I'll try to post some photos of the big day. Thanks folks!

    Wow - thanks to all your generosity, we are now well over our target! I'm so grateful.

    We've booked the voucher for Bob for the Top Gun Experience, and got a Go Pro, so money left over will go towards paying for the trip to Tauranga (where Fighter Jets NZ is based).

    If anyone wants to 'virtually' attend the surprise birthday party, where we'll present the voucher to Bob, just send me a photo (email or FB) and I'll get it printed up large.

    Hey - a big thanks to everyone who has donated. We have collected more than enough to pay for the jet flight, and may even be able to bump it up to the "Top Gun" experience, or to get a second hand GoPro so Bob can record the trip for posterity. I really appreciate your generosity, and hope this'll make for a truly memorable birthday.
