Huriwaka Dean’s boxing journey is built on hard work, discipline, sacrifice, and belief.
Taranaki
Coming through the Box Office Boxing youth pathway, Huriwaka has developed from a young athlete learning the basics into one of New Zealand’s most promising boxing talents. His selection to represent New Zealand at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games is a proud achievement for Huriwaka, his whānau, Box Office Boxing, Taranaki, and everyone who has supported his journey.
At a young age, Huriwaka has already achieved an incredible record. He is a 4x New Zealand National Champion, 5x Golden Gloves Champion, 2x International Golden Gloves Champion, and 3x New Zealand National Most Scientific Boxer. He has also competed internationally, finishing among the top 8 boxers in the world in his division.
These achievements are the result of years of dedication, training, travel, sacrifice, and support from his coaches, family, teammates, and community.
Now, Huriwaka is preparing for the next step — representing New Zealand on the Youth Olympic stage. To help him continue developing and compete at his best, we are raising funds to support his training, travel, competitions, equipment, and preparation.
Every contribution helps Huriwaka keep progressing and chasing his Olympic dream.
By supporting Huriwaka, you are backing a hardworking young New Zealander, a strong community pathway, and a future Olympic athlete proudly representing his whānau, club, region, and country.
Let’s get behind Huriwaka Dean as he prepares to represent New Zealand at the Youth Olympic Games.
