Braces for Alexis

My daughter Alexis has a very pronounced overbite. 17mm. She struggles to bite in to an apple and she's 12 years old.

There's no financial help and Orthodontic treatment costs up to $10,000 NZD

Update:

After our second opinion appointment and the side profile x-ray taken at that appointment we now know that along with her 17mm overbite Alexis' lower jaw is in fact under grown. To the point of requiring surgeries quite probably in the next few years. For now we're trying to raise $3,000NZD for the initial stage in this new proposed treatment plan. It's an appliance called a Twin Block. Alexis will wear it for a year to see how far it can bring that upper jaw back in to place. Then we'll reassess. Looking at braces for around $7,000NZD and the costs involved with private dental surgeries that could be exorbitant.

This is not a cosmetic issue, it's causing her pain and jaw clicking and is too important to do nothing about. Despite my fears of the costs.
