Bradley’s advance melanoma diagnosis and treatment
Invercargill, Southland
Over the last 6 months Bradley has been getting a lump on his left hip checked out. This was something we thought was not very serious until it did not disappear, but instead grew larger. Just recently we have found that he has advanced melanoma, the masses are in his left hip area, and also in his liver.
The immunotherapy that is funded in NZ, Nivolumab has a 1 in 5 (20%) chance of working to shrink the tumours he has. There is another immunotherapy treatment, that would increase the odds to roughly 50% chance of being effective, however this is not funded in NZ. Ipilimumab has a cost of roughly $150,000 to $200,000, which is simply outrageous. This medication is funded in Australia and the UK, along with many other countries but for some reason is not funded here.
This page is here to raise money to help support the cost of this treatment, along with any travel needed for appointments etc. Anything would be greatly appreciated. If the $200,000 is not hit the money will used towards the cost of this that we will pay ourselves.
Bradley is my husband, we are just about to celebrate our first wedding anniversary on the 26th of February
Bradley’s treatments and any other costs associated with this. If the goal is not met, the money will be used towards the cost of treatment and any costs associated with this that we will pay ourselves.
