Please help Brayden recover from his horror injury caused by a drunk driver and his recent redundancy caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Auckland
On Thursday 27 August Brayden was innocently walking out to his girlfriend's parked car on the side of the road to get some maccas when a drunk driver flew around the corner trying to evade a Police checkpoint, the car then ploughed into the back of the car, unfortunately right at that time Brayden was walking in front of the parked car and was slammed into another parked car throwing him into the air, severely lacerating and breaking his right leg (photo available on request.... warning, not for the fainthearted)!! The driver attempted to flee the accident scene but was caught a bit further up Pupuke Rd by the Police.
Brayden is currently in Auckland's Middlemore Hospital undergoing multiple surgeries to restore his leg, however it is going to be a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation him.
Brayden has also recently been made redundant due to the COVID-19 pandemic, finding work with his injury and unknown length of recovery will make finding work very challenging.
Brayden is a fine young man, he has helped his parents through his childhood to the present with a lot of fundraising, giving his time to help others. It is fantastic to have the opportunity to give back to Brayden.
Brayden is the son of my dear friend Sally Smith.
The use of funds will be to help Braydens day to day living whilst he undergoes a long recovery process, the same week as the accident Brayden was made redundant. The funds will also be used on any medical or rehabilitation equipment
