Funding for private breast reduction surgery.
Wellington
Since 2018, I have been rejected by the Hutt Valley DHB for publicly funded surgery a total of 4 times. I first started experiencing medical issues such as back pain, migraines and infections around age 14. At age 16, I was squeezing into a 12GG bra and now, at 23, I can no longer fit into a 16JJ. My daily life both physically and mentally is tremendously affected by the weight hanging off my chest. As a full time student, I don't exactly have the funds for private surgery. The goal amount will cover everything from anaesthetics, the surgery itself, and the aftercare. Please donate anything you can to help me change my life, and something I can't control, so I can live pain free.
All of the money raised will go directly towards breast reduction surgery. In the event that I do not raise the amount required for the surgery, I will use what has been donated as a down payment and request a bank loan to cover the rest.
Updates 15 February 2023
Hello everyone!!!!
First of all, I just want to thank everyone who has donated. It truly means the world to me to have your support.
Initially my page was set up to run for a year, the goal being to have had my reduction surgery by the end of 2022. This was what was decided in consultation with my surgeon, whom I will still be using for this surgery.
In December, I made some unpleasant discoveries regarding my physical health and have since been undergoing tests to confirm my specialists suspicions. It would appear that I have a small tumour on my pituitary gland, being the cause of a disorder called Cushing's Syndrome or hypercortisolism. Funnily enough, it could be the reason that my boobs never stopped growing.
Nevertheless, I will be having a completely separate surgery to remove the pesky little bugger (publicly funded). Due to the changes my body will be going through after this surgery, I have been advised to wait 8-12 months before undergoing any other body modifications.
I am going to be reaching out to givealittle to request that they extend the run-time of my page due to the unforeseen circumstances. Basically, my reduction surgery plan is exactly the same and has not changed, except it will be carried out 1 year later than expected.
Again, thank you for your support and I hope you continue on this journey with me.
