Brendan's road to recovery

In less than 12 hours we have had $555 dollars donated, am heart warmed by everyone generosity so far..

Dave and Jono, you wanted to know which hospital he was in. Please read the below update from his dad below, but he is in Auckland CityHospital, off Grafton Road.

Brendan Christensen had a good day today. He has been in the chair again, started Physio on his left arm and leg which started him on the long journey of rehab, has had most of the attached tubes and wires removed, is writing notes frequently asking us if he can rest up at home, be home for Xmas, for the bed to be raised, his chair, telling us who has visited, asking questions, for TV, Fruju, lemonade ice block, etc etc. (NB he cannot eat or drink yet so please don't tease him with lollies and stuff!!). He is now breathing 100% himself but will retain the tracheostomy tube for a few more days. He has been moved from CCU into the adjacent High Dependancy Unit where he continues to receive a high level of care but will share a nurse with his immediate neighbour.

Despite this great progress, the harsh truth is that Brendan is likely to be in hospital for weeks followed by long term rehab. But we will treasure each positive step and love and support him through the bad ones.
