Help Brendon and his Family

  • Great News......

      29 March 2017

Brendon has been allowed to fly back to NZ, he and Kim arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning where he went straight to Christchurch public hospital. He's still settling in and getting used to the new doctors so we will let everyone know when he's up for visitors. He still has a way to go but is doing far better than the Australian doctors initially thought. We're unsure how long he will be in public before he moves on to a rehab hospital. Thanks to everyone who helped us out and for all your love, support and best wishes for Brendon.

    Hi All,

A great update from the family :-)

Thanks again from the continued support.

Brendon's recovery is going very well, he is doing much better than doctors initially thought he would. He's fully awake now and able to walk and talk. He will still require more rehab and has a long road to recovery but with the strength he is showing we are confident of a full recovery. He will still need to stay in Melbourne for around 6 more weeks then we are hoping he can come home and continue recovering here. Kim will continue to stay in Melbourne with him and at this stage we are still waiting for a decision as to whether acc will cover the costs of his medical care here due to working overseas. We are so grateful for everyone's continued support.

Pleased to be able to share this update with you all from Kim and the family x

Today has been an amazing day. Brendon had the breathing tubes taken out and the first word he said was Mum! He is still a bit confused but is getting stronger every day and with yesterday being a massive turning point. He will require lots of physio and rehab and it will be a few more months before we can get him home but things are definitely looking up especially with his sense of humor and cheeky chin still in tact. Thank you to everyone who has helped us out, we are so grateful for your love and support.
