Checkers the Black and Tan Dachshund still missing in Wainuiomata from 17th May 2022. Lets Bring Checkers Home!!
Wellington
Checkers is a 3 year old black and tan Dachshund who went missing in the Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt on the 17 May 2022 and was most recently sighted Saturday 11th June 2022
“Checkers” owner’s Leonie and Steve arrived at LAX airport to the bad news that their much loved sausage dog went missing in Wainuiomata that same day. They immediately tried to return but all flights were fully booked and after finally confirming flights they then tested positive for Covid which led to more delays. Finally arriving in Wellington 3 weeks after Checkers went missing.
Checkers is a very brave boy and has had potential sightings in the bush, along streets, in parks and has had to cope with thunderstorms, frosts, rain and sunshine. Checkers is surviving and making good choices but now he needs to be back in Mum and Dads arms sleeping in their bed with his fur sister Bella.
A wide range of community groups and organisations, family, friends, animal lovers and the general public have come together and have been doing everything possible to find checkers.
We really need to get this little boy home and need your help to allow us more search capability and resources to Bring Checkers Home.
Please note: there is no insurance covering the search.
I am a Dachshund owner with the Wellington Dachshund Owners group who has stepped up to help lead the search to Bring Checkers Home
