Helping with expenses to transport us from NZ to Japan to collect our Dad and bring him back home.
Nationwide
This morning we received the tragic news our Dad, Henare Akurangi had sadly passed away in his apartment in Fukushima, Japan. He had been contracted to teach at Koriama Junior High School as a English, Māori & Japanese language teacher to the junior students. Before moving to Japan to teach, our Father was a well known Māori Kaiako at E.I.T Hawkes Bay, where he taught Bachelor of Arts Māori He was found unconscious by his friend/co-worker at his apartment and they tried to revive him. However their attempts were unsuccessful. We now are looking to bring Dad back from the Japanese consulate where he currently lies on his own until we can go and receive him to return him back home, here in NZ with his whānau and friends. We have started up this Give-A-Little page to help me and my older brother bring our Dad home to his whenua. We sincerely appreciate any support and contribution. Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu tonu!
Ngā mihi nui,
Rongomai Ham-Naera, Te Haumarangai Ham-Naera & ngā whānau. <3
