Help bring Ian home to his family and to pay the unexpected and overwhelming costs related to the incredibly tragic loss.
International
Vicki and Ian were childhood sweethearts, married for 24 years, the couple have 3 children.
After moving back to Taumarunui, NZ, from Cairns, Australia around 2 years ago, the couple had it all mapped out. Vicki would keep the home fires stoked, looking after the kids and beekeeping. Ian, an experienced chopper pilot, would travel between Australia and New Zealand - continuing to assist fighting bush fires in Australia.
Ian returned to work in Australia on Friday 28 Sept 2018, Vicki quietly hoped that October would be the last time the family would be separated, although she knew how much Ian loved his job and how much pride he took in being able to help people.
Sadly their dreams were not to be realised. Ian was tragically hit and killed by a vehicle early on Saturday morning in Singleton, NSW, Australia.
This is made more painful by the fact that the driver of the vehicle still hasn't come forward to identify themselves.
We are now at the point where this family needs to get their Chopperman home and this is where we need your help. Whilst these funds won't bring their beloved family member back, it will help them get him home, will assist with immediate expenses for the funeral and day to day costs.
Vicki and the kids need time to grieve properly, not to have to worry about financial matters. We would be so grateful for any help you could give this deserving family and know that Ian would appreciate your support of his family.
This page is set up by friends of Ian and Vicki. We want to help the family with costs involved in bringing their much loved husband, father, son and brother home and to give some sort of financial relief and assistance in the day to day runnings of the family home.
The funds are for flights for family members to bring Ian home from overseas and to pay the costs related to this. Also to assist in the day to day running of a family home.
