Lunar New Year is more than a celebration. It is a time for family, new beginnings, cultural traditions and bringing communities together.
Across Aotearoa, people from many different backgrounds celebrate Lunar New Year, each with their own beautiful traditions and stories.
On 8 February 2027, Viet Hub NZ invites everyone to join us at Walter Nash Stadium, Lower Hutt, for a vibrant Lunar New Year Festival celebrating culture, diversity and community.
With around 2,000 people expected, the festival will feature traditional performances, lion dances, delicious food, cultural experiences, children's activities and opportunities to connect across cultures.
Our dream is simple: to create a welcoming celebration where everyone, regardless of their background, can experience the joy of Lunar New Year, share traditions and make lasting memories.
As a community-led, not-for-profit organisation, we need your support to bring this celebration to life.
Your donation will help fund cultural performances, children's activities, decorations and the essential costs of making this festival accessible to our wider community.

Use of funds
Support volunteer reimbursements, transportation, shipping cultural artefacts from Vietnam to New Zealand, craft equipment and stationery, decorations and printing costs. Funds raised will help make the festival accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
