Hi again,

I’ve just confirmed with family that it was $6300 in total for all costs (ambulance, morgue hospital costs, autopsy, paperwork and flights back to NZ). So yes please pass my details on to your mother in law and I’ll send documents and quotes etc that we had to see if that will help. Thanks

Hi my name is Samantha, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. This happened with my father in law just last month, he died near New Delhi. We paid $6300 for his repatriation from New Delhi to Christchurch and he was later cremated in NZ. Do you want me to give you the details the same person/company who quoted us that amount? Keep in mind that this was probably for his travel costs only, I don’t think that this amount covered his ambulance and morgue/autopsy costs (that may have been dealt with separately via his travel insurance).

My phone number is 021981904 if you need any information. I can also pass on the details of the consulate official we spoke with every day, she was very helpful and made sure that my father in laws wife was looked after in India and she organised her accomodation and rescheduled her flight home.

Regards,

Samantha

Hi

The whanau can ask the bank for a Funeral Grant of upto $10,000, and Winz may help with any other expenses.

Don't necessarily have to be registered or anything with either!!!!

Sophie

Hi Stormy thanks for the info, we will follow this up 🙏
