To cover the expense of bringing Tory home to Waitara, New Zealand.
International
Our shining star, in the prime of his life, Tory has sadly left us at the young age of 22. He leaves behind many heartbroken family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that Tory died doing what he loved - playing rugby league.
Tory moved to Australia from New Zealand at the age of 15 to pursue his dream of playing league, after playing for the Waitara Bears from the age of 5, and representing Taranaki at age group level. Anyone who knew Tory knew that he had the determination and skill to succeed, which he did, attending Illawarra Sports High School and being selected to play in the Australian Combined High Schools team and the NSW schoolboys team. Tory was playing for his beloved Dapto Canaries team when he passed away. Tory's determination was also expressed in his career goals, Tory would have completed his industrial electrician apprenticeship at the end of this year.
A service for Tory will be held in Wollongong, and then it will be time to bring Tory home to rest in peace in Waitara, Taranaki, NZ. The expense of bringing him home is considerable, and it is for this reason that the family are asking for anyone who wishes to contribute their koha (gift) to the family, to do so through this page. The family thank everyone for their contribution in advance, and for the tributes already received which mean so much.

I am Tory's aunty. I have been asked on behalf of the Brunning whanau to administer funds to help cover the expenses of bringing Tory home to Waitara.
The funds will be used to pay for the expenses involved in transporting Tory from Australia to New Zealand. Any surplus will be used to help pay for his tangi (funeral) and headstone.
