An operation in Dubai resulted in my wife being admitted to ICU with Septic Shock and Kidney Failure. Now I need to bring her home
International
A family member offered to organise and pay for the surgery that would have given her a better standard of life and a longer one in which she could enjoy our 5 kids, particularly our 5 and 7 year old. The operation failed and my Wife (Janet) ended up in ICU with Septic Shock, Respiratory Failure and Acute Kidney Failure. The Hospital stay, which has not finished and meant that the bill has jumped from $16.500NZD to $64,000NZD and increasing. The family member is now unable to pay these increased charges and neither can I. Janet has now been informed by the Hospital that she cannot leave the Country until she has paid the bill and that her passport will be seized to ensure this happens. Please help bring my wife home so that we can all be a family again.
April 23rd Update 23 April 2016
Janet is out of Hospital and is slowly recovering. She still has not been given permission to travel. We have managed to gain access to some of our Kiwisaver funds which has been forwarded to the hospital. This still leaves $10,000 still to pay before she can leave the country. On top of this the Doctor's bill for after-hospital care is still to be received and this is about $3,000. We are hoping to have Janet home before our son's birthday, providing the bill has been paid, on the 8th June. Alas she will not be home in time for Mother's day.
