I am finally in the final stages of restoring my 1997 CBR1000F V SC24! I’ve made a lot of progress already, especially with repairing and repainting the fairings, sourcing the decals, and addressing various details like the seat release lock and windscreen. It’s been a rewarding process watching the bike come back to life.
When I take it to the Honda dealership for a once-over, I’ll make sure they check things like the suspension, brakes, and fuel system to ensure everything is running smoothly. Since I’m almost done, I’ll also double-check a few things before finishing:
Electrical components: I need to ensure all lights, indicators, and signals are working properly, and check the wiring for any wear.
Chain and sprockets: I’ll see if they need replacing or have already been serviced recently.
Fluid levels: I’ll keep an eye on engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and clutch fluid.
Brake pads: I should check these as well, especially since I’ll be replacing the front tire.
I’m getting so close to finishing, and it’s exciting to see it all come together. If I need advice on the last steps or help finding parts, I’ll definitely ask!
