Building More Than a Playground—Building Community

For years, local families have told us the same thing: Maungatapere needs a safe, welcoming place where children can play and our community can come together.

Now, we have the opportunity to make that vision a reality.

Inspire Church Whangārei (formerly Maungatapere Community Church) is leading a project to create a beautiful community space featuring a fully fenced playground, picnic and BBQ areas, seating, and landscaping for everyone to enjoy.

This won't just be a playground—it will be a gathering place where friendships are formed, families connect, children thrive, and community grows.

The playground will be located on the Inspire Church site and will be freely available for community use. With secure fencing, modern play equipment, seating, and a safe, accessible design, it will become a lasting asset for Maungatapere families and future generations.

The total project cost is approximately $180,000. Inspire Church has already committed 30% of the funding and has applied for council grants, but we need the support of our wider community to help bring this dream to life.

No donation is too small. Every dollar moves us one step closer to creating a space our children, grandchildren, and community can enjoy for years to come.
