A man, his family, and a business targeted by criminals again and again and again. With no hope in sight, needs some community kindness
Upper Hutt, Wellington
The Owner of Sterling sports in Upper hutt has been targeted multiple times for daytime theft and afterhours breakins. This has cost this family into the tens of thousands now and every time there has been no repercussions for those involved. The Door alone is going to cost close to $3000 to replace, again. Insurance premiums have increased, excess has increased and he is left to foot the bill as well as the ever ongoing fear of having it happen all over again. With little to no help from council and not fitting the criteria for retail crime prevention assistance, he is beside himself with what to do going forward. He is not alone. many businesses throughout the hutt valley are fighting the same battle. The Security Noticeboard has started this Give a little to ask the community to show their support for the owner of this business and his family.
This is less about making up for what this man and his family have lost. this is showing them that the community is behind them and that we understand the pain he is going through. let raise enough to give him a few days a reprieve. take his family out to dinner. just something that says, "bugger mate that sucks."
If we could just raise enough to cover the excess on replacing his door would be a start. the lost earning from having to close the shop while waiting for police to be available to do fingerprints is costing him thousands per day.
This man, like many others, are at their wits end. The people of the valley, Unite!
I run the Hutt Valley Security Noticeboard and he is a business in the Hutt Valley that has been targeted several times in the last 12 months, including having his front door smashed twice. This man see no hope in sight, and we hope to show him the light.
Raising funds to assist in paying the insurance excess and a dinner out for this man and his family.
