Support Caden’s Journey to World Champs
Support Caden as he represents New Zealand at the U16 Men’s Water Polo World Championships in Croatia.

We are incredibly proud to share that Caden Taufu'i Fuatimau has been selected to represent the New Zealand U16 Men's Water Polo team at the World Aquatics Water Polo Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.
At just 15 years old, he has dedicated years to training - still too young to drive, he is now preparing to travel internationally on his own to compete. While we're excited for him, we're also a bit nervous as parents, not being there to support.
NZ Water Polo has advised that the total cost for this trip is approximately $13,170, covering flights, accommodation, meals, and other team expenses. Our family is also fundraising to help cover these costs.
Any donation would mean a lot to Caden, who, through years of discipline and dedication, has earned the privilege of representing his country.
Itinerary:
Depart Auckland: 23rd July 2026
Herceg Novi : 25th – 31st July (Trainings and scrimmages)
Zagreb: 31st July – 10th August (Training & World Champs Competition)
World Champs Competition Dates: 3rd – 9th August
Depart Zagreb: 10th August 2026

Use of funds
Funds raised will go directly towards the Water Polo NZ trip cost of $13,170 per athlete. This includes airfares, accommodation, meals, event costs, local transport, travel insurance, equipment, coaches’ costs, and referees’ costs.

NZ U16 Water Polo Worlds Update 24 July 2026
Hi everyone,
The team headed off yesterday for the U16 Water Polo Champs, with a week and a half training camp before competition begins. They'll be travelling through Korea and Amsterdam before arriving in Croatia for the tournament.
On behalf of Caden and our family, we really appreciate all the support, kind messages, and encouragement. It has been a blessing to see so many people get behind Caden and help make this possible.
He's excited and looking forward to the experience, and I'm sure he'll share some photos along the way.
