Calista's Fight Against Nutcracker Syndrome
Calista is a 17-year-old student who should be enjoying life with friends, playing sports, and planning her future. Instead, she faces a daily battle with Nutcracker Syndrome, a rare vascular condition that causes severe pain, nausea, fatigue, and vomiting.
Since becoming unwell, Calista has struggled to attend school regularly, participate in sports, socialise with friends, and even eat normal meals. Despite these challenges, she continues to work hard to keep up with her studies and remain positive.
Unfortunately, the specialist surgery Calista urgently needs is not available in New Zealand. To access treatment, we must travel to Canberra, Australia.
We have now received a quote for the surgery, with costs estimated between NZ$37,000 and NZ$44,000, depending on the treatment required. This is in addition to travel, accommodation, medical appointments, and rehabilitation expenses.
Your support will help cover:
💜 Surgery costs
💜 Travel and accommodation
💜 Medical and rehabilitation expenses
Every donation, no matter the size, will help bring Calista closer to the treatment she needs and the chance to simply be a teenager again.
Thank you for supporting Calista's journey to recovery. 💜
Calista is my beloved daughter, and I am fundraising to help her access life-changing surgery in Australia for Nutcracker Syndrome, a treatment that is not available in New Zealand.
