Gemma has stage 4 melanoma. She requires treatment with a drug that is not government-funded. Please help Gemma in her fight for life.
Auckland
Gemma Malins is only 28 years old. She has stage 4 metastatic melanoma, which was initially in 2019 misdiagnosed as a fatty lump. A PET scan showed the cancer has spread throughout her body including the brain and lungs.
She and her partner Brandon had their whole lives planned out, wanted to get married, have children, and build a future together. Since Gemma’s diagnosis, they have managed to get married.
Gemma has undergone immunotherapy for over a year, 22 treatments in total. This treatment has proven ineffective as she has many new growths, some of which prevent her from having children.
She requires further treatment with a drug, Ipilimumab, that is not yet government-funded.
Please help Gemma in her fight for her life.

I'm Gemma's younger sister, if I had the funds I would give it to her in a heartbeat. It's hard to see her like this. I just want my sister back.
The funds raised will be spent on the drug Gemma requires which can only be done through a private hospital.
