    An update from Uncle:

    My 5 weeks chemo and radiation have ended and now I'm up for reassessment in approximately 5-6 weeks.

    I am feeling amazing, So I'm totally confident and positive with what will be revealed. I got told by both chemo and radiation people that I handled the treatment really well-Go me!!!

    I'm in training now for Iron Māori quarter race in Nov, Watch this space and Facebook.

    The HPV virus is gaining coverage now and I implore you to vaccinate yours boys and girls against it- Having been subjected to all the not nice things that come along with it, Once detected.

    Farrah Fawcett did an amazing documentary re her struggle with it prior to her passing that I recommend as informative viewing.

    Thank you Thankyou - Ngā mihi nui for your aroha and support. I will let you know more after my next general anaesthetic to reassess my progress.

    Meeting Monday and Tuesday next week with Radiation and Medical Oncologists…in Palmerston North . I’m eligible for $ petrol assistance 🥳The Chemoradiation commences Monday 31st July - 28 weeks from initial GP visit to alleviate pain that I was experiencing, I was extremely uncomfortable training in Nov for Ironman NZ March 2023 and I still am experiencing bouts of accute pain - damn it !!! all the very hest- Go Me !!!- you can do it 👍💪👊

    I plan on water fasting prior to the start of my chemoradiation treatment when I am given a start date .. I also am training my body to thrive in a ketotonic state - something it is used to ( see my photo as a 40 year old body builder - ) my guru and nutrtion exper ProfedsorvBart Kay - supports me in this approach - how lucky / blessed am I?!?👍💪👊IMTOA

    Prob wont achieve low fat percentage achieved below 25 yearscago but will defijitely he in a smaller size wetsuit st the end of all this 😜

    Just letting you know what my approach is to fighting this war on my “gremlins”. Im committed to non toxic metabolic therapy autophogy- as discussed here https://youtu.be/1ebPZP9hBPA which simply put means not feeding the cancer any glucose or glutamine by being in a ketogenic state. Zero carbohydrates and sugar avoidance . I’m also blessed with support from NZ you tube icon , former senior lecturer in cardio respiratory musculoskeletal physiology and exercise physiology- Professor Bart Kay ( he is both knowledgeable and extremely down to earth - definitely no sugar coating korero). My Iron Māori Toa and Ironman training will prob incur sone disruptions but I will endeavour to complete as much as I can -Ivwill toe the start line Dec 2nd IMTOA and March 2nd 2024👍💪👊Eager for my ☢️💉treatment to be decided and commence - the gremlins are grumbling a little too often . HB half marathon with my running buddy Sally Wise Aug 26th hope to see many of you there - hmmm wonder what Ill be wearing other than a fanny pack loaded with wetwipes and bulk vaseline 😜😂ma te wa

      I have an i Tera wand if you’re keen on trying something non invasive.. it is said to create new cells and get rid of bad ones .. goggle it … I use it on my shoulder

    Feeling grateful- for a wonderful young woman doctor who knows Brent -Murray is 100% focussed on his Hauora ( health and wellbeing) and she could share with me the facts. That otherwise were a 10 day minimum wait . I .would cherish the opportunity to take a pivotal role in discussions re my treatment prior to being told it ( hello I’m still here - kia ora 😜😂)

    Thinking of sitting with a great book or two or 3 , guitar close by and a 🍷( what do you all reckon ?? )!Ka nui tāku aroha ki a koutou katoa 💙🩷❤️💜🖤to all ..and to the piwers that be - bring it !!!     Well the biopsy was not pleasant !!!. I did get to see up close one of the “gtemlins” on the ultra sound scteen - hard not to due to size🤔the other one is yet to be diagnosed🤞My radiolohist Sandy and nurse Sarah excellent practioners - we gad a good laugh and were able to answer my many questions including ladt minute ditch - us this really necrssary 😂😜😂Results in 10 days or so - lots of everyones samples to test . Oh , I pre - empted the procedure so a “wee shave” wasnt necessary 😜😜I have constructed a driving schedule which includes the DHB shuttle and friends offer of collecting and depisiting me. If you have a spare Tuesday or Thursday in next couple of months ( treatment supposed to commence in approx 2 weeks time 🙄🤔👊) and live the company of an experienced car karioke let je know - gas money Illnprivide👍💪Other than that - my focus is “ stay hard👍💪👊Aroha nui ki koutou katoa - heap heap big love to evetyone 💗🌈💙♥️🖤still no acknowledgement from my own GP .

    Photo included is in my appartment and is of a wahine ātaahua who with het special whānau was instrumental in me becoming the peoples day - maker - he kai kuti makawe /hairdresser / barber I am tiday 💗💪👊Nearly forgot - EIT graduation dinner tonight - A, A+A+ for my level 2 Te Reo assesments ( not very happy about the A🙄😜😂) Kylies at wirk is going to braid my hair - yet to find out if ill need to start growing all over again ?? maybe a beard aka viking styke ??

    Two really important messages/ / take

    My diagnosis after biopsies returned post initial operation revealed - Anal cancer ( I had never heard of before but no not a fissure/ Hemorrhoids as I had been treated for for 7 months . 1. Whānsu - When you know your tinana / body as I do - get a second opinion when the pain doesnt go away !!!

    Anal cancer is an uncommon type ( yayee me 😂) and most often the result of the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection like cervical cancer.. Smear your Mea and I have got even more in common 😜💪👊 Now when I compete wearing my fluro colours - Ill have a nessage to share . Good news there is a vaccine that can prevent it pre infection and can be administered to girls and boys pre teen years : plus reiterating need for regular PAP testing wāhine 💗💪👊 So the botox injections I was told could be a fix - didnt happen ( pity cos Id asked for left overs to be liberally applied to my face 😜) and can still frown I know a hell of a lot of facts re cancer now - “I always was a girlie swat my brother Jason used to say 😂and am gleaning as much as I can all the time . Ask me anything you may want answers to whenevet you see me 💙💪👊.Google HPV virus whānau - protect our tamariki . This is my number pkate - every toot will scare the “gremlins “ .Ma te wa e hoa ma -IMTOA👍💪👊

      I had high grade HPV 23 years ago

      I had to have an operation to remove high grade cells

      Absolutely couldn’t recommend enough for boys and girls to get this vaccine

      It isn’t talked about enough

      I had nevrr ever heard of HPV virus prior to this . Now armed with knowledge Im happy to crusade . Thanks for sharing and encouragement .- will knock the bugger off 😜💪👊and trumpet boys and girls innoculations from every mountain I climb 👊

    Kia ora koutou. The PET scan at Bowen House on Friday revealed’gremlins” ( my not endearing tetm for this cancer ) in the groin area. A biopsy apopo at DHB is necessary to rule out inflammation and give them precise areas to target for radiation ☢️ mapping . I rang and tried to get a rain check for this procedure ( understandably😜) but they were most insistent. 😂 I will let you know the outcome.

    One enormous stress I no longer have - thanks to everyones aroha / generosity - my rent for the 6 or so weeks of treatment is now banked !!!Ahuriri is my physical, spiritual, mental place of being and my colourful appartment and its lication I cherish !!!my soul thanks each of you 🙏🙏🙏Mihi nui ki a koutou katoa👍💪👊Staying hard - IMTOA -Brent - Murray 💗🌈💪👊

    3 hour session at Bowen Hosp using radioactive ☢️material to detect cells more active.- results take 2days . Had to stay clear of chdn and anyone pregnant for 4 hours after. My niece is the best driver and company ever 👍💪👊feeling blessed with your support - thank you my friends/whanau. 🙏🙏🙏

    Uncle has a lot of mahi ahead. He's pushing through pain💪🏼

    He heard back his results today from Thursdays (08.06.23) X-rays and MRI.

    It is confirmed Cancer is deep-rooted and another biopsy is needed.

    I will be taking him to Wellington for a PET scan, Awaiting an appointment date.

    Followed by 6 weeks radiation and chemotherapy in Palmerston North.
