Doug Murcott former All Black Junior- Southland -- Desperately needs your help. Urgent= Stage 4 Cancer Treatment.

Nelson / Tasman

Doug Billy Murcott 58, a former All Black Junior from Southland

Desperately needs your help.

He has Stage 4 Cancer of the Oesophagus. The tumour is too advanced for surgery and his doctors predict he has less than a year to live.

Hello to You All.....My name is Shawnee, I knew Doug when we both grew up in Invercargill, we recently met again when he moved here to Nelson.

Doug is a Proud Man, this illness is Very Hard for him as he is now needing others to help him.....i have offered my help in doing this page for him & Dedicated partner Sally.

we are seeking financial help so we may apply for Medicinal Marijuana...it is a slow process & also a costly one.

Access to medicinal marijuana must go through Ministry of Health..Peter Dunne has delegated decision-making for the prescribing of all cannabis-based products to the Ministry of Health, including those that are not pharmaceutical grade.

Shane Le Brun from Medical Cannabis Awareness New Zealand has been advocating for greater access to the drug for people across the country.

He welcomes today's announcement, saying it goes further than he expected.

Mr Le Brun says it's only right that non-pharmaceutical grade products are given consideration as they will be able to help people in pain who can't use pharmaceutical grade cannabis.

But he does have concerns about the cost of accessing these products, as they're not covered by Pharmac.

We are looking at maybe up to $1500 per month, over $400 per week which is just an Impossible cost to cover.

Doug became severely depressed after the shock of being deported from Australia to NZ in April 2016. Convictions from almost 30 years ago led to his deportation, which abruptly ended a Decade in Sydney, the last 5years as Sallys carer. (Sally had lived a Very Traumatized past)

Doug (aka Billy) was deeply demoralized and stigmatized. There seems to be a general assumption that someone is only deported for bad reasons. The politicians and the media promote this "rapists and murderers" stereotype of the deportees and it is just Not true of Everyone.

Doug is a Good man who played rugby for his country, has coached numerous rugby teams, worked many jobs, run several businesses, and has been a law-abiding citizen for the majority of his life.

Upon arriving back in NZ, Doug was beginning to experience bouts of Severe abdominal pain. He went to the emergency department of Christchurch Hospital twice. Instead of receiving treatment there, he was told to calm down and wait, Without being given anything for pain relief

Doug was offered an apartment in Nelson. He moved in and was excited to send Sally photos of what he hoped would be their new home.

Four months after the pain attacks began, their worst year ever suddenly became a Nightmare. Doug was diagnosed with Advanced Terminal Cancer of the Oesophagus, with Less than a year to live according to the doctors.

Doug could not tolerate more than a couple of weeks of Chemotherapy. Conventional Doctors says it's too late to cure the cancer, there is No chance of surgery.

Oesophageal cancer is Extremely Painful with a cruel twist. The growing tumour obstructs the passage of food. Swallowing becomes increasingly difficult. The patient is restricted to liquids and some days even swallowing water is impossible. Most patients with this type of cancer will eventually choke to death on their own saliva.

Hoping to avoid such a gruesome fate, Doug and his partner Sally have researched many so-called cancer cures. One cure clearly has the potential to reverse a stage 4 cancer - Medical Marijuana. The evidence accumulating now shows that CANNIBAS OIL CAN SHRINK TUMOURS as well as alleviate the severe pain associated with cancer.

Doug needs to access to medical marijuana IMMEDIATELY, but the cost of this treatment is prohibitive. He is likely to require cannabis oil for at least four to five months, which will cost in excess of $6,000.

Sally is now living with Doug in Nelson.

She has lost her Australian Pension & is NOT entitled to any NZ $ as she is living with her Partner.....this is a HUGE strain & Worry for them Both which is Not helping Dougs' or Sallys' health.

Doug & Sally Have NO Family who can help them & Only 1 Close friend who helps with shopping etc. (Along with 1 Hospital Support worker who pops in)

Sally spends her days now Caring for Doug, A once Very Strong Junior All Black----who is now a Shadow & Shell of his former self.

There is Very limited money available for anything other than Rent/Power & a Little bit of food.....Doug is Needing Good Store bought High Alkaline Water, Highly Nutritional Baby Food, Organic foods which are All expensive & funds DO NOT cover.

Please Help Us get Doug his Much needed Medicinal Marijuana Medicine, & Food/water ---- BEFORE its too late.

We would be so Very Grateful to any Donations towards Our Cause.

We Thank You All Very Much.

We are Praying for a Miracle. PLEASE Help Doug Survive.
