    “With deep gratitude we want to thank every single person who gave with such a generous heart

    Mark and I were blessed beyond measure in a season of such uncertainty. These funds enabled our family to spend critical time in NZ while Mana fought for her life in hospital over the past 5 months. During this time we were faced with what was the unimaginable & impossible, But your generosity meant that Mark and I could be totally present to Mana’s every need through each infection, procedure, treatment,medication, struggle, concern & decision that ultimately lead to the triumph that she is today.

    Because of this we are so fortunate to have left the hospital with our miracle girl who against the stats, the odds, the circumstances is beautifully and wonderfully made. She is gods goodness in the flesh.

    These photos attached are of Mana from only several hours old when we were filled with so much fear, to today where her future is destined for greatness.

    Hi All! Jess here, A little update below:

    It has been a whole month since we were discharged from hospital. We have been in our newborn bubble taking in all that is our girl and enjoying being a family of 5! Mana has exceeded all expectations! Given her extreme prematurity & battle with meningitis she was considered high risk for sight & hearing loss. In the last few weeks her:

    Ears - Signed off as perfect

    Hips - Signed off, beautifully in their sockets

    Heart - Signed off, its improved which is great

    Speech & Language assessment - She got a beautiful mouth.

    Eyes - Signed off, but requested asked for another visit because he is intrigued by her progress he wants to see what they would look like in a month as it builds to repertoire as a physician. She only has her physio appointment left before we can be signed off to go home!

    Today her lead consultant expressed her amazement at her progress and given how great she’s done our next physical now wont be until she turns 1!

    We have had an outpouring of love and support from everyone that made this journey easier! None of this is possible without our community, everyones support of our family, each gift, every dollar, ever parcel, every meal, every home, every bed, every call, every visit, every message, every email, every prayer, every encouragement, every uplifting word an absolute blessing! We cannot express enough gratitude for love that we have received. Thank you so much!

    Update from Mark: Mana had her lumber puncture today . Lumber puncture results came back just now and she’s CLEAR!! No more meningitis!

    Update from Louisa

    Late lastnight the lumber comfirmed she is fighting meningitis.

    Transparently, this news has broken us when it was relayed, it’s what we have been waging war against and continue to!

    On a positive note, she is active and responsive this morning but still tender! The docs have said “she’s getting better, and we got the antibiotics to her quickly”

    Now more than ever we are having to practice active faith in casting out fear! The fear of “what if” has been crippling, but our girl has been so strong physically that we need to be stronger for her spiritually! That in the valley we continue to praise god for his goodness!

    So this is our Praise report:

    1. She is 8 days old today, 25 weeks & 5 days (thank you lord for every day)

    2. She’s responding well to antibiotics

    3. I have been discharged now and can spend quality time with Mark and kids (this is amazing for my mental health)

    4. We have comfortable accommodation at the end of the road (less than a minute down the road)

    5. Zion & Niva are being well looked after by family & friends

    6. Gods provision

    Prayer requests:

    1: Healing, Healing, Healing - No more meningitis

    2: No inflammation or fluid around the brain

    3: Wisdom over here Nurses & Doctors

    4: Peace, Calm, Rest for Mark & I

  • Prayers for Mana

    An update from Louisa today:

    We’ve had a scare last night where she was having trouble with her breathing so they put her on a ventilator and antibiotics. Her bloods have just come back saying she has an infection. They’re about to do a lumber-puncture on her to see if it’s meningitis!

    Other than that Mana is strong and a powerful warrior. She’s doing amazing given the circumstances We rebuke this infection and cease any hold whatsoever. We celebrate this beautiful week we’ve had with our darling, she’s beautiful and perfect in every way! Pray for our hearts, minds and peace.

    Please pray over the family and Mana for her health.
