Catastrophic housefire leaves Wallace Family without a home
Te Kuiti, Waikato
On the night of October 25, 2024, fierce winds caused a catastrophic housefire that ravaged the home of a well loved and respected family of Te Kūiti - the Wallace Whānau (Maniapoto, Ngāti Mutunga)
A mother, her 4 children and mokopuna now find themselves facing an unimaginable situation, having lost not only their home but also the memories and comforts that defined their lives.
The pain was profound as they stood amid the ashes of their past, watching helplessly as everything they cherished went up in flames.
Unfortunately, their home wasn't insured.
Yet, in this dark hour, their faith remains.
To alleviate the financial burden that they are faced with, this is a timely moment for our community to come together and support a whānau that has given so much love and kindness to others over many years.
Your heartfelt donations will be vital in helping them piece their lives back together.
The funds raised will be directed towards, securing urgent temporary accommodation and immediate basic necessities such as food and clothing. This whānau will require ongoing support for medium to long term needs such as chattels to help rebuild a home that meant so much to them.
Our Wallace whānau have reluctantly but humbly accepted the desire for the community to support them at this time and have given permission for the Givealittle page to be created.
Every contribution made, will make a profound difference in their journey to recovery.
Let us be their flicker of hope.
