IHAKA: NZU17 men's were placed 27th in the world and now place 4th as they lost their semi with USA. A massive achievement for these young men both in success and experience. A challenging journey home from Türkiye with flights & schedules had them scrambling to make the NZ U18s Nationals held in Wellington a day late making eventually making semis but unfortunately landing them with a bronze. Ihaka's Ram's season ended with a fantastic win giving them the NBL title for 2024. His commitment to the Rams supported the success for this team enduring in the relentless training regime held almost daily along with his other school, Canterbury & club commitments not to mention his disciplines needed with his studies at school. School Senior Basketball team is currently undefeated heading into the South Island qualifiers which will be held in Dunedin Sept followed by the Nats in Palmeston North Sept. A potential Hoop Nations tournament is on the cards for November TBC.

TAWHIRI: Tawhiri's exceling in the various teams he represents. Cant. U16s placed 3rd at the Nationals which at an unfortunate turn of events for the team where they won every game until the semi looking sure to win but the stars did not align. A great outcome non-the-less as he has secured a spot in the NZ U15's team scheduled to travel to Canberra for the FIBA Oceania Cup Nov 2024. His other commitments with Club U20's & U23's, School Seniors have him tracking superbly well.

The 4th trip of approximately 12 for my boys. Thank you all so much for your kind generosity. Here is Ihaka today at the airport ready to take flight to the Under 17 Boys World Cup held in Türkiye. He carries so much in his spirit of excellence where the weight can be hefty at times but he's an extraordinary young man. 3 weeks overseas then lands where all the player will then go straight to Nationals for another week. Go NZ!
